Cotton Bowl Foundation Pulls Off Another North Texas Giving Day Surprise

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cotton Bowl Foundation pulled off another North Texas Giving Day surprise.

For the second year in a row, the official foundation of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic kicked off North Texas Giving Day in a major way for a local nonprofit. The Foundation surprised HOPE Farm with a $25,000 grant to jump-start the 2025 edition of the largest community-wide giving event in the nation.

The surprise came on the Aug. 14 edition of WFAA-TV's Midday newscast. Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and Cotton Bowl Foundation Chair Kelvin Walker unveiled the surprise in an interview with HOPE Farm Executive Director/Board President Sacher Dawson and Communities Foundation of Texas President and Chief Executive Officer Wayne White.

The Foundation extended the donation to help the south Dallas-based nonprofit meet and exceed its North Texas Giving Day goal and aid in its mission to break the cycle of fatherlessness, strengthen families and provide leadership programming and life plans for at-risk boys in North Texas.

For North Texas Giving Day 2024, the Cotton Bowl Foundation surprised AT LAST! twice with $25,000 of its $50,000 grant awarded as a part of its annual grants program.

The Cotton Bowl Foundation has been an active participant and supporter of North Texas Giving Days since its inception in 2016. Since 2016, the Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in grants and financial support benefiting nonprofit organizations in the surrounding communities.
