ARLINGTON, Texas – Providing the tools to develop impactful leaders in an area where the high school graduation rate is just one-in-25 sits a beacon of hope for South Dallas. The innovative Barak Obama Male Leadership Academy, where hundreds of young men are being prepared to graduate and able visit a potential college by the time of graduation, received grants of $50,000 each from the Cotton Bowl Foundation and College Football Foundation.
"This was more than a gift, it was a blessing. The word excited is an understatement. Our staff and everyone involved in making sure that our students have a chance to grow academically and socially; we were ecstatic," said Michael Bland, Barak Obama Male Leadership Academy Principal.
